Studierendenrat der TU Ilmenau

The Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for all of the student body’s information processing systems. In addition to providing technical and administrative support, this also includes user training.

The department was established in 2006 and aims to consolidate the student body’s IT resources and expertise from the Student Council and the academic student councils.

IT Services

Member Management

Membership management is at the heart of our IT services. It is where the data for all members is managed (including, among other things, who was active where, from when to when). This also makes it easy to issue certificates of activity. In addition, access permissions for the StuRa account are managed here.

Websites

We provide a content management system for the websites of various student organizations and projects (e.g., stura-ilmenau.de, erstiwoche.de, studierendenbeirat.de).

Wiki

The Committee Wiki is our knowledge repository. Here you can find the minutes of meetings from a wide variety of committees, as well as documentation on a wide range of projects.

Job Board

Are you looking for an internship, a part-time job, or a full-time position after successfully completing your degree? Then why not check out our job board?

Elections

To help you learn more about the candidates, the voting procedure, and the results of the student council elections, we are providing a website with information and software for the election commission to count the votes.

Council Information System

To prepare for StuRa meetings, we use software that allows topics and documents to be submitted for the meeting and helps us publish and archive materials after the meetings. In addition, all students at TU Ilmenau can use it to find out about the topics on the agenda for the next StuRa meeting.

Cloud

The StuRa Cloud is our general file storage space. Even if you aren’t active on any committee, you’ll find the “Exam Box” there when you log in with your university account. The events calendar is also updated from here.

Event Calendar

The short link stura.eu/kalender takes you to a calendar of events where you can find events organized by the StuRa, student clubs, and student initiatives.

Help Desk

If you send an email to a committee, it is usually automatically created as a new ticket in our help desk. This helps us keep better track of your inquiries.

Room Reservation

We have a room reservation system to make it easy to manage rooms such as our conference room in the Helmholtz Building (H 1548).

Volunteer Schedules

Many events are only possible thanks to the active support of many different people. To make it easy for volunteers to sign up, we’ve created the Volunteer Tool.

Surveys

Sometimes it’s helpful to find out what people think about a particular topic. With LimeSurvey, we can conduct surveys among students or evaluate events with participants afterward.

Shared Notes

HedgeDoc allows for simultaneous collaborative editing of documents (using Markdown syntax).

Link Lists

There are link directories for a wide variety of important topics. Separate sections can also be created there for individual groups, which will then be visible to the respective members after they log in.

QR Code Generator

With our QR code generator, you can—surprise, surprise—create QR codes. You’re free to choose the color of your QR code and the background it will appear on.

Election Information

To help you learn about the positions of parties, slates, groups, or individuals on specific topics before elections, we’ve set up the Mahlowat software at wahlinfo.org, which we use, for example, to provide election information for students ahead of the Thuringian state election.

In addition, we serve as the point of contact for the following technical equipment and services provided by the Student Body:

  • Computer workstations in the student council and department student association offices
  • Management of Wi-Fi access to the FeM-Vereine Wi-Fi network for members of the Student Council (StuRa) and Faculty Student Councils (FSRs)

Upon request and provided it is technically feasible, we are also happy to make our services available to students at TU Ilmenau and student initiatives associated with TU Ilmenau. If you’re interested, just send us a message and we’ll see what we can do.
